FESTIVAL OF TRIX 2021, Gaydon, Warwickshire
IS ON !! All the usual attractions will be
there with a number of exhibition layouts and displays run by members
who will be only too willing to talk through the running and operating
of all types of Trix Trains. There will be sales tables from TTRCA
members and dealers of high repute - hopefully from Europe as well as UK
based. So you can buy with confidence. And the legendary supply of TTRCA
new parts will be offered by Martin and Penny Drayson
Weekend of September 18th 09.30 - 17.30 & Sunday 19th 10.00 until 15.00
Old Town Farm, Knightcote Rd, Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire, CV47 2SL
The Trix Twin Museum will be open on both days for
members to study and better understand the wide range of Trix model
railway items available from 1935 until about 1985. These include nearly
all known varieties of accessories, buildings, locomotives (over 700 on
display) carriages, and wagons of UK origin. Also: original hand-made
prototypes and the occasional factory error. Plus a selected range of
Trix Express as supplied in Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands,
USA, Australia and a single item from South Africa.
As in the past there will be a chance to socialise
at the local pub, "The Merrie Lion" in the evening of Saturday with a
set 2 or 3 course menu at very reasonable prices. Last time we had well
over 50 people attend and the evening was an enjoyable success. "Merrie
Lion" now have rooms available for B&B for those who may want to have a
drink and not need to drive afterwards. Further details of the evening
will be published later, but if you are interested it is better to email
me early to be sure of a table space. As an indicator the 2 course meal
was previously (2018) £22 and the 3 course was £25 per person including
coffee etc. Alcoholic drinks are extra.
Because of the high cost to run the event there is
now a weekend entry pass for both days of £7 including free entry as
many times as you wish to the museum.
Food and drink will be provided at modest prices
for both days by the O'Brien family and many will be familiar with
Jess's high standard of fresh food preparation. No alcohol is available
at the event.
Don't miss out on what is almost certainly the
first purely TRIX meeting in nearly 2 years.
All Covid precautions will be in place and we
expect to provide disposable face masks and sanitiser at the door. We
merely ask that you behave correctly, when such a terrible sickness is
not far away.
For bookings of sales tables, layouts, exhibitions
please contact David O'Brien by phone or email.
