FESTIVAL OF TRIX 2021, Gaydon, Warwickshire
Weekend of September 18th 09.30 - 17.30 & Sunday 19th 10.00 until 15.00
Old Town Farm, Knightcote Rd, Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire, CV47 2SL
IS ON !! All the
usual attractions will be there with exhibition layouts and displays run
by members who will be only too willing to discuss the running and
operating of all types of Trix Trains. There will be sales tables from
TTRCA members and dealers of high repute - hopefully from Europe as well
as UK. So you can buy with confidence. And the legendary TTRCA spare
parts will be offered by Martin and Penny Drayson.
Twin Museum will be open on both
days for members to study and better understand the wide range of Trix
model railway items available from 1935 until about 1985. These include
nearly all known varieties of accessories, buildings, locomotives (over
700 on display), carriages, and wagons of UK origin. Also: original
hand-made prototypes and the occasional factory error. Plus a selected
range of Trix Express as supplied in Germany, France, Switzerland,
Netherlands, USA, Australia and an item from South Africa.
As in the past
there will be a chance to socialise at the local pub, "The
Brook St, Fenny
CV47 2YH. However, due to
uncertainties created by Covid and doubt over members wishing to join
in, it has not been possible to organise a set meal deal as previously.
I am in the process of arranging a table of about 12-15 diners using
their standard menu. Please call asap on my email or phone to reserve a
place. We have 8 spaces taken at the point of printing.
Because of the
high cost to run the event there is now a weekend entry pass for both
including free entry as many times as you wish to the museum.
Food and drink
will be provided at modest prices for both days by the O'Brien family
and many will be familiar with Jess's high standard of fresh food
preparation. No alcohol is available at the event.
We do not have a card reading facility, so I'm afraid cash for entry and
food purchase is necessary.
Don't miss out on
what is almost certainly the first purely TRIX meeting in nearly 2
will be in place. You will be greeted by a family member who will run
through our simple requests of behaviour to others. We expect to provide
disposable face masks, or use your own if you prefer, and hand sanitiser.
Please behave correctly while Covid is still a concern for us.
For bookings of sales tables, layouts, exhibitions
please contact David O'Brien by phone or email.
